Carbon Footprint

Carbon Footprint is a piece made from recycled materials.

It started from a series of postcards I received from a close friend during his travels in Africa. As I read them excitedly, a strange feeling came over me, a feeling of distance and intimacy. The words on the postcard were just recounts and yet I saw the emotions in the subtext and felt I was there in his shoes. I’m sure much of it was projections of my own mindset at the time and created this work based on these feelings. Glass boots with postcards etched onto the soles, ready to walk a mile and leave a faded whisper behind.
