Love Letter Exhibition
2015. It was Love Letter’s first year and we were in our last year of college. Yves Lee, the founder and curator of LL, and one of my dearest friends, approached us to become a part of it. It was her way of saying how much she cared about us as artists and friends, it was her love letter to us and that’s what she made her theme too.
For me, I have always had a hard time reaching out directly to people I cared about, I had written many love letters in the past but few have ever reached their intended targets and even when they did, they were fully encrypted and disguised in an artwork. It’s a theme that I had repeated trouble with and with this as the starting point of my interpretation I created an installation of my shadow firing out shattered arrows encrypted with names of those I felt connected to.
